The deal
The Hotelplan Group acquires the majority of travelwindow AG, the leading independent Swiss online travel agent "travel.ch".
The deal has been closed on 20 September 2005. With the acquisition of travelwindow AG and a dynamic expansion of www.hotelplan.ch, Hotelplan Group becomes the market leader in a rapidly growing Swiss online travel market.
The background
Founded in 2000, travelwindow AG is a professional full service travel agency, specialised as independent online travel provider. With "travel.ch, travelwindow AG possesses the most frequented online travel domain in Switzerland.
travelwindow will continue to be an independent online domain for the Swiss market as a business unit within Hotelplan Group. Founder Roland Zeller is still a minority shareholder and will continue to lead the company based in Zurich.
