BODDY & TrainAway join forces

TravelTech - Fundraising & International Expansion

Hitz & Partner assisted the Swiss TravelTech start-up company BODDY in the successful completion of the seed-financing round of CHF 2.2 Mio as well as on the buy-side.

This seed financing funding round marks a major milestone for BODDY as the company double down on product evolution and accelerate our global expansion. The vision to deliver the best health experiences to millions of people around the world is further reinforced by the support of existing investors, who share the passion for creating positive change in the industry.

In March 2023, BODDY joined its forces with the Danish company TrainAways to create the world's largest fitness and wellness network for travellers. Hitz & Partner advised the shareholders of BODDY on the buy-side.

The merger allows BODDY to benefit from TrainAway's extensive network of fitness and wellness providers and expand its global footprint to over 30 countries from Europe to North and South America, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Australia. TrainAway will benefit from BODDY's strong distribution network in the travel industry, including hotels, airlines and leading online travel agencies such as Tripadvisor, Hilton Hotels, Expedia, SWISS, GetYourGuide and Klook. TrainAway's core offering will continue and be further enhanced through the merger.

"This is an extraordinary milestone for BODDY and TrainAway," says Hannes Boller, CEO of BODDY. "Since last spring, we have had countless conversations and constructive dialogue to learn about our respective visions, business areas and growth plans. We were very impressed by TrainAway's relentless focus on the customer, which fits perfectly with BODDY's philosophy of always putting customers and partners first. It became clear very quickly that we share the same north star and with the complementary nature of our presence, facilities, products and technologies, this will be the perfect synergistic fit."
