The deal
Retroactive as of January 1, 2006, Latino Travel, Zurich - the specialist for Central America - has been taken over by Knecht Reisen. The present CEO Reto D. Rüfenacht continues to run the company at its location in Zurich.
The background
Latino Travel is a specialised Swiss niche player for tour operating in Mexico, Cuba and Central America. The tour operator has an excellent reputation and a high portion of direct clients. The decisive factor for the sale was the missing distribution channel, which is now secured through Knecht Reisen and TTS. The brand Knecht Reisen consists of 14 own subsidiaries. Today, Knecht Reisen is the fifth largest tour operator in Switzerland.

The Corporate Finance Team consisted of Stephan Hitz, Lead Advisor and Engagement Partner and Ralf Rosenow, Attorney-at-law with Rosenow Grob Schilling.
